    Snopy Saika's Punch Out [Closed]

Post by Snopy on Sat Aug 08, 2015 2:59 pm

There was a man out there.  A smelly man.  A smelly man that smells...smelly.  At least his personality smelled bad.  Snopy crinkled his nose slightly in disgust.  No, he couldn't actually SMELL the bad personality, but he felt like he could.  Snopy kept a pill at the ready, his portable gigai.  He didn't need to be stealthy, even if this was a rich neighborhood their cameras couldn't catch a Vizard.  The fancy gate at the entrance to the neighborhood was a joke.  Snopy jumped over it with minimal effort.  The staff making sure no one broke in obviously couldn't see spirits, and even if they could they were probably focused on the camera, which wouldn't pick up Snopy anyway.  It was early morning, before the sun rose.  It felt so much more...fitting that it be dark.  Felt like a stealth mission.  He could see each and every building so clearly, because all it took was a porch light to make them look like someone spilled the sun on them.  They were so fucking white.  They also looked so painfully similar, yeesh.  Snopy was glad his mansion wasn't part of a gated community, it didn't look like a clone of everything else.  Sakura and Tengoku.  Target sighted.  He found the house he was looking for.  Snopy knew breaking and entering was a crime, but so was beating your wife.  Snopy quickly crossed the yard, a dog looking up upon hearing the grass move slightly, but laying it's head down as it found nothing of interest.  Snopy saw a second story window open, probably for circulation.  He jumped, quickly latching his hand onto the windowsill and flipping into the building.  He was in a bathroom, currently empty, but obviously a source of fresh air for the house as the door was open.  Next up though, he had to locate his target.  It wasn't hard because he heard some stirring in what sounded like a refrigerator.  He could hear that signature clank of glass that usually only happens in them.  Snopy slipped silently into the hall and down to where he heard the sound, light shining in from a room ahead of him.  It was indeed a kitchen, as he discovered.  A quick survey showed no cameras, nothing.  Snopy popped in his portable gigai and became solid.  As the refrigerator door shut, he saw a man with an open bottle of soda about to take a drink.  He was just as described.  Before the man could react Snopy threw a punch at him full force and downed him to the floor.  K.O.!  The man dropped the bottle of soda, which shattered on the floor.  He looked up shocked as Snopy uttered only a few words.  "Next time, treat your partner as a wife, not a slave."  Snopy rushed out of the room and quickly left the gigai once out of sight.  He hopped out the window and vanished.

Normally this would be a risky plan, a bad idea.  But no Snopy knew how this work.  This was a gated community, there were cameras EVERYWHERE.  He avoided each and every one, no one, and I mean NO ONE, would believe that someone broke into his house and punched him and managed to avoid every single camera.  Even if they did, one of Snopy's workers doubles as a guard here.  He could use him as a witness to say that no one suspicious showed up.  Snopy hopped back over the fence, brushed himself off.  Maybe he should go to see Kanna and give her the check.  He had a riveting experience with her 5 days ago, but now that he thought she wasn't on the verge if suicide, he could just pay her and move on.  He'd check up on her obviously, but it'd be subtle and she'd probably only even know it if he realized something was up.  Hmm, the sun was just coming up.  He could go see Kanna now, or he could hang out and relax for a few hours.  Yeah, today was the day.  He would not stop, he would not rest, he would not sleep for an instant until Kanna got her money, but first he was going to go buy some donuts.  The United States had some unhealthy food, but god was it good.  Snopy made his way to a donut shop that an American had actually set up upon moving to Japan, and they were fresh baked so they ended up being a hit.  It wasn't until he got about a block away that he entered his gigai.  Stepping into the building, he greeted the friendly American before ordering a chocolate chocolate frosted donut, those were unbelievably delicious.

Five days. Five fucking days. Seriously? Kanna was losing so much money right now. She had to keep her bar closed for five days. She was extremely bored and losing money. The combination of annoyance and stress was not a good thing for her. Since then, Kanna has done nothing. She cleaned what she could in the bar and then did nothing productive. She has eaten a lot, laid in bed, enjoyed a few baths, and watched TV. Boredom, boredom, boredom. And on the fifth day, Kanna felt like her head was going to explode. She needed something to do. When the afternoon came around, Kanna was dressed in light grey jeans and a light pink, form-fitting shirt. She was putting on her shoes when she heard something crash down stairs. Figuring it was some moron wondering why her bar wasn't open, she rolled her eyes and hurried down stairs. She opened the door to head down stairs and...

"What... are you doing here?" Kanna's eyes widened and her voice cracked. Her heart began to race. Right there, at the bottom of the stairs, was her ex-husband. She felt her stomach curl into knots as she froze in horror. "Treat your partner as a wife, not a slave?" Kanna shook her head in confusion. That voice sent a shiver up her spine. She had not heard it in so long. "Yoshida... Wh-What are y-you doing here?" she asked again. He took a single step up the first stair and Kanna jumped away, her back slamming into the wall. He began running up the stairs, so she slammed the door. "GET OUT!" she screamed at the top of her lungs and ran to her apartment. She opened the door as she heard him burst through the other door. She turned and closed it, locking it right as he slammed into her door. "GO AWAY GENSAI!" she screamed and looked around the room. "OPEN THE DOOR KANNA!"

Kanna began panicking as she watched the door be repeatedly pushed in. "GO AWAY!" she screamed again, tears forming in her eyes. Her heart was racing, pounding heavily in her chest. She felt like she couldn't breathe, it becoming harder and harder with each passing moment. "YOU'RE SENDING PEOPLE AFTER ME NOW!? HUH, BITCH!?" he shouted through the door, slamming himself into it once more. The wood around the door handle began breaking and Kanna looked to her bedroom door. As he slammed into her front door again, it busted open and she rushed into her bedroom. She didn't even try to lock it and ran to the closet and locked herself in there. A moment later, he was trying to get through there. "You really think you're going to get away from me?" his voice leaked through the cracks. "Go away! Please! I didn't do anything!!" she said, crying as he began banging on the door.

"I'm going to kick your ass... again." Yoshida said angrily, "You'd think that you would learn your damn lesson, but no." Bang. "You're always testing my patience, always trying to piss me off." Bang "Why don't you ever listen to me, Kanna!? If you listened a long fucking time ago... None of this would have happened." Bang. "If you had listened... you might not be such a worthless woman, huh?" he chuckled. Bang. "You might even be able to have children, but you didn't listen... You didn't listen and now you're stuck in a closet, hiding from me... because you need to be taught ANOTHER FUCKING LESSON!" BANG! The closet was finally pushed through and Kanna was huddled in a corner, covering her ears with her knees to her chest. "COME HERE!" he reached out and grabbed her ankle, dragging her toward him. "No, no, no!! PLEASE STOP! YOSHIDA!!" Then he went for the first strike...

Down the road he walked. With a dozen donuts in hand, Snopy continued to nibble on them. In his pocket was the check, folded up nicely in order to minimize crinkling. He wondered if he should offer Kanna a donut, it might be rude not to. But they were soooooooooo good. Maybe he'd hide them, so she wouldn't know. Nah, way too petty. If she wants some she can have some. Finally coming up on Kanna's bar, he pushed the door open and looked around. Empty. "Hello?" He called out, no answer. Everything seemed to be in order, and she should be here. "Kanna?" Suddenly he heard a loud thud upstairs. Did she fall over or trip or something? Snopy placed the dozen down on a table and walked over to the mini hall/staircase off to the side. Another thud? That was really strange. Snopy placed the donut in his mouth and ran up the stairs. That's when he heard something, and just as importantly, the door to said room had a broken doorknob. Snopy didn't have time to worry about the donut in his mouth as he ran into the room to find Kanna being pulled by some screaming guy...wait that was her ex! Snopy didn't hesitate to run over, and as he went in to punch her he'd find his arm wouldn't move forward.

Using his other foot, Snopy stomped on the arm holding Kanna's ankle, forcing him to release her. He spoke, though he refused to lose such a delicious donut so he spoke through his teeth. "Keep your slimy hands off of her." Even with the strange voice that only a man cradling a donut in his teeth can have, he was obviously pissed. Snopy picked up Yoshida and slammed him onto the ground. Snopy then proceeded to uppercut him as he tried to get back up. The very moment he showed his chin then BAM! "What the actual fuck is wrong with you? What kind of barbaric troglodyte do you have to be to come here and bring harm to her." Snopy swore he just heard this man snarl like a bear or something. "Bark bark." Snopy said, sarcastically responding to the snarl. Yoshida seemed pissed enough that he didn't bother to speak, instead he charged. Snopy merely dodged the punch using his speed, hooked his leg around Yoshida's, and forced the bear to the ground. "Don't you snarl like a bear and then rush at me. What's wrong with you wife non-respecter person." He wasn't taking Yoshida seriously as a human, only taking him seriously as a threat to Kanna. "Get the fuck out of here." Snopy picked the bear up and slammed him against a wall, his nose now probably needing one of those nose cast thingys, if only because Snopy proceeded to do it 3 more times. "If you ever threaten her again, or I find out you've hurt her or anyone else for that matter...you WILL regret it." Snopy continued to pull the now frightened Yoshida by the hair, down the stairs, and threw him out of the building personally. Dusting his hands off, with donut still in mouth, he ran upstairs to Kanna, quickly placing the donut on the table. "Are you okay? That bear didn't hurt you did he?"

Kanna felt the hand removed from her ankle. She did not feel the punch she expected Yoshida to land. She heard the voice, the familiar voice of the man who had just saved her. And yet, it did not register. Kanna's mind was so clouded with fear, the moment Yoshida was not over her, she jumped forward and closed the closet again. She curled up in the back, covering her ears again. Her body shook. Tears streamed down her cheeks. She clenched her jaw shut, trying to block out the bangs, thuds, and animal sounds that came from her own bedroom. "Not again... Not again..." she thought over and over again. The sounds did not stop, but they seemed to fade, as if they were getting farther and farther away. Finally, they were gone and Kanna crawled out from her closet. No one was there. He was gone. They were both gone. Was she safe again? Or was he going to come back?

Kanna stood up and slowly walked toward her bedroom door. As she reached out for to pull it open, she heard the quick steps of someone coming back toward her. Before she had any time to really react, someone burst through her door and she jumped backward, tripping on her own two feet. She fell and used her arms to crawl back toward the bathroom before she even realized who it was. She stopped and sat there with wide eyes, staring directly at him, almost in disbelief. "Snopy?" she replied to his question. Was he actually here? Did he really just save her? The even that just came to pass finally registered in her mind. She relaxed, her body collapsing against the wall behind her, just to the side of her bathroom door. She laid there silently for a moment, her mind trying to slow down. When she collected herself, Kanna rolled over on her side and curled her knees to her chest.

"I'm okay..." she said. It wasn't really an answer to him, but more a realization. She brought her hands up to her face and covered her eyes, crying into her hands. Her body was still shaking in horror. "I'm okay." she said again, still crying and as if she did not believe it. "I-I don't understand..." she said, speaking slightly muffled into her hands, "Why did he come after me? Why, after all this time, did he come here? I didn't send anyone after him... Why would I do that? Why would I give him a reason to come hurt me? I never wanted to see him again!" She shouted that final sentence, angry at him and at herself, as if this was some how her fault. Finally, she looked to Snopy and decided to acknowledge his presence. "You're here? Why?" she looked up to him from her place on the ground with the most confused expression, as if his presence was almost as horrifying as seeing Yoshida.

Kanna was totally freaking out. He avoided touching her, as per her request from days before. He knew she didn't like being touched, and obviously this attack on her didn't help that much. He was just as close as he could be to her without getting within that bubble of discomfort. It was obvious she was shocked she was unharmed, her ankle would be, at most, a little sore. Otherwise Snopy stopped her from any real harm. "God, I can't believe that asshole came here just to hurt you. That bear needs to learn some manners." Of course there wasn't much Snopy could do, until Snopy realized something. As Kanna tried to figure out what was going on, something clicked in his head. "Why did he come after me?" I don't know, seems a little out of place. "Why, after all this time, did he come here?" If it's been so long he might have a specific reason. "I didn't send anyone after him... Why would I do that?" No...you...didn't. "Why would I give him a reason to come hurt me?" Of course you wouldn't... "I never wanted to see him again!"

Snopy became unbelievably pale. All color left his face...hell his body became paler in general. His shoulders, usually up high, began to droop. Kanna spoke. "You're here? Why?" "I came here to give you the check." That is all Snopy could say at first. He swallowed, he most certainly wasn't acting like himself. Kanna might notice, but it wouldn't be surprising if she didn't seeing how shaken she was. Snopy reached into his pocket, grabbing the check and placing it in front of her. "Oh my god..." He spoke, swallowing shortly after. "Kanna...I..." Snopy was trying to come up with the words. Somehow he had to. "Kanna, Yoshida...he..." In his head he was screaming "Come on you have to tell her" but he was having so much trouble. "Kanna...I went to Tengoku and Sakura...I...I punched your ex-husband. I was just so disgusted with him...I went there, and I punched him...and...this is all my fault. I am so sorry Kanna...what have I done?" He did not know what else to say, he was still trying to steady himself, but he just couldn't seem to pull it off.

Kanna was slowly connecting the dots. Snopy was hesitant at first, so she stared at him confused. Spit it out! She wanted to yell at him, but just couldn't. She was barely calming down. And then he finally said it. Kanna's head slowly turned toward him as he explained himself. She pushed herself from the ground and to her feet, turning toward him with wide eyes. She clenched her fists so tightly she wouldn't be shocked if she made her palms bleed. She clenched her jaw until it was sore, staring at him, glaring at him. Her fists began shaking. "You did what?" she said in a raspy anger filled hiss. Kanna froze for a moment and suddenly stomped her foot on the ground. "YOU IDIOT!" she screamed, "Why would you do that!? Why would you go there!? I didn't think you were serious! He's gonna kill me! He's gonna hurt me again! He was finally gone and you made him come back!"

Kanna's face was full of tears at this point. She began flailing her hands at him, smacking any place that she could hit at this point and stomping her feet. She obviously didn't know what to do. She didn't want to hurt him; she didn't want to hurt anyone, but she was just so angry and scared that she couldn't control herself. "What am I going to do now!? Do you have any idea how long it took me to get over that? I'm not going to be able to sleep! I won't even able able to leave the house!" Kanna yelled at him, grabbing tightly onto her own hair as if she were ready to pull it out. She dropped down to her knees and just cried. "Why... why... WHY!?" she screamed in anger and punched the ground. This wasn't just freaking out. It was a total break down. Kanna's entire world was crashing down around her, but this was the second time. She finally had a bit of peace and now it was gone.

"Kill me..." she muttered and looked up to Snopy with the most pathetic pleading look anyone could bring up, "Just kill me now, please... At least if you do it, I won't have to see him again..."

Post by Snopy on Sat Aug 08, 2015 6:52 pm

As soon as Kanna got it out of him, she absolutely flipped out.  Who could really blame her?  Snopy wasn't used to dealing with the kind of person who would do such a thing, so he did something that was obviously biting him in the butt.  Well, if it was just biting HIM in the butt it wouldn't be that bug of a deal.  No, it was biting Kanna in the butt too.  She screamed, she insulted, she threw everything besides actual physical violence at him.  Normally he would defend himself.  Normally he'd deflect and protect himself.  No, this time though, not this time.  Snopy took it, he stood there and let her throw everything she had at him.  He had no right to defend himself.  This was his fault.  He just ruined her life, or at least it seemed like it.  Sure, Snopy could protect her...but what would the cost be?  Would she ever be able to be truly safe?  Would he be able to always be there to deflect Yoshida?  The consequences of his actions were more than he could actually handle, he COULDN'T do enough to nullify them.  Perhaps he could and he was overreacting, but with how low he felt, he couldn't tell.  I...fucked up.  He said, he wasn't exactly crying, but in essence he was defeated.  "This...may be one of the greatest mistakes I've ever made...and it wasn't even an honest mistake."  His voice was...shaking?  Yes, his voice was shaking.  His normally calm, collected demeanor, his voice, his posture had completely collapsed.  Sure, he had made mistakes.  Some even cost another's life, but they weren't this kind of mistake.  Honest mistakes.  The kind of mistakes that someone makes a slight misstep, something where they was no way they could have or should have known the action would have negative consequences.  The kind where any reasonable person would see that they couldn't have known, and there was no way to know.  No, this was a fuck up.  He should have known he'd come after Kanna, he shouldn't have hinted why he did it.  No, he did everything wrong and now this poor woman would suffer.

"I..."  Snopy's voice was even more shaky.  It wasn't like he was about to break down shaky, but was pretty much just as bad.  He was defeated.  The man who always had composure, who never gave up, who always held hope in his heart.  He was defeated.  No one, NO ONE had ever seen him like this.  His legs were shaking a bit, his entire body was pale.  If Kanna looked into his eyes, they'd seem almost lifeless.  Shoulders drooping.  Not a single sign of happiness on his face, or his body language.  His normally confident posture transformed into a defeated one, ever last ounce of body language screamed the opposite of it's usual message.  "I have lost, I have made the worst mistake of my life".  "Kanna...you..."  There wasn't anything to say.  No, right now, words meant nothing.  He knew it.  If words could protect Kanna from the disaster he brought upon her, he'd do it in an instant.  But it wasn't that simple.  Snopy went over to the bench and sat down.  "There's...words can't make this right."  His voice was no longer shaking, he sounded dead.  He actually sounded like he should be dead.  "You deserve better."  Someone might actually think he was dying, because one after the other pieces of voice, personality, and body seemed like they were dying.  Obviously they were not actually dying, but really as far as he was concerned they may as well be.  He looked over to Kanna.  "Why?  It wasn't your fault I can tell you that much.  You didn't do anything, but now the demon spawn is back in your life. I'm sorry."  Kanna then asked Snopy to kill her.  He barely looked up.  "You dying...isn't the answer. I...have to fix this, somehow. Somehow..."  He leaned his head up and looked straight towards the ceiling.  He knew he'd get over it...but he knew that he'd never be able to truly put it past him unless Kanna was safe.  She wasn't safe because of him...maybe later he'd be able to think of ways to protect her, but with defeat in his heart he most certainly couldn't imagine it right now.

"Dying is the only answer! I cannot deal with him, not again! I cannot handle what he will do to me now that he thinks I'm sending people after him!" Kanna grabbed her head and shook it harshly. She cried and cried hard, breaking down further with every passing moment. "Please! Just kill me! I can't do this! I can't!" she begged again, "If you won't, I'll just do it myself..." Kanna crawled along the ground until she came to her end table. She opened up the drawer in a hurry, pulling out the gun he had seen her wield before. She was about to put it to her head, but stopped. This wouldn't work. This damn gigai. She needed out of it. Kanna dropped the gun to the floor and just sat there, her arms falling limply to her sides. "This isn't fair..." she whispered through sobs, "This isn't fair! What did I do?! Why can't I just be happy!? Why can't I live my life?! WHY DOES EVERYTHING GET TAKEN AWAY!"

And that's when his words registered. She heard them. He had to fix this, somehow. Those were his words. Kanna's tear filled eyes turned toward Snopy. "Kill him." she muttered. She stood up and stomped over to him, grabbing his shirt and using every ounce of strength in her body to push him into the wall behind. "You did this! You have to fix it! That's what you said. You said that!" Kanna spoke as if she were holding on to a final thread, "Then kill him. Kill him and rid me of him forever. It's the only way! Please! If you kill him, I won't have to worry anymore. He won't hurt me. Please, please, please!" Kanna knew that this wasn't true. She knew what the afterlife actually was. Well she knew, but she wasn't realizing what she was saying. The fact was, Yoshida would likely come back and kill her then, but this time it would be as a hollow, not as a man. With her power as it is now, he'd even succeed.

When those thoughts clicked in her mind, Kanna just froze right there and fell back to her knees. "...Nevermind..." she said in a whisper, "Nevermind. There's no point. He's going to kill me... I know it. You know it. Mister calm and collected can't even keep his cool when Yoshida is involved..." Kanna just sat down again, leaning her back against the bathroom doorway. "It's over... I give up..."

Kanna seemed convinced that death was the only proper answer.  She was so desperate to just be rid of the pain and suffering.  If she was dead it'd be all gone.  Or at least she thought.  Why should someone end their suffering by ending everything?  It was better to replace it with something better, but somehow Yoshida had to be dealt with.  "I will not kill you Kanna, death is not the answer."  Somehow her talk of killing herself was slowly but surely snapping him out of his daze.  Still, once she pulled out her gun, Snopy shot out of his seat and shouted.  "Kanna, no!"  Kanna almost did it, but she dropped the gun.  Snopy sighed in relief.  Well that shot some energy into him, he was no longer sitting there with little will to move.  "Stop taking out that gun."  He stated, referring obviously to her several attempts to kill herself.  Her next reaction though caught him by surprise.  Kill him.  Kanna muttered at first, but then she went over and grabbed him, shoving him into a wall.  She was holding him to his word, that he had to fix it.   She wanted him to kill him, to get rid of him forever so she would be safe.  She begged him.  "Yes...I have to fix it, but I can't kill him."  Something clicked soon because Kanna suddenly said never mind, and that she was going to die.  If the calm and collected guy was breaking down, then it was hopeless.  Wait a second that's right, he was the calm and collected guy.  Besides, he wasn't defeated because Yoshida even posed a threat.  No he was only upset because he brought such fear, and such danger, to this woman.  She had given up, but she snapped him out of his little momentary lapse in strength.

"Yes...killing him isn't the answer.  He'd...still be a threat."  Snopy got down to her level, on his knees, and nudged to get her attention, without actually touching her.  He merely caused movement at about his head level so her eyes would look up.  "I didn't lose my cool because Yoshida scares me, I lost my cool because I caused him to come...I caused him to come back and cause you so much pain and fear.  But, you can't give up.  He's gone right now isn't he?  He isn't here and he isn't hurting you?  Do you REALLY think he left without hurting you on purpose?  No, I forced him out.  I forced him to leave.  And the look in his eyes...I think he was scared."  Snopy took a deep breath, if Kanna really looked at him she'd see the fire was back in his eyes.  "As long as I am still standing, I won't let that bear lay another finger on you.  He wants to hurt you...he has to go through me now.  I owe it to you."  Snopy stood up and walked over and grabbed his donut, taking another bite.  He needed something more in his stomach after all that chaos.  "I know it might be hard after what happened...but I will prove you can trust me."  He turned and looked her in the eye.  "Give up now and that man wins."  Snopy moved towards her and sat back down again.  "You might not think you can keep going, but I will do my best to lighten the burden on your shoulders."  Snopy got up and pointed to the stairs.  "Please.  At least try to trust me.  Just a little bit. Though any trust you can't give me now...I'll earn."

Even with her fear and the pain that this caused, Kanna didn't truly want to die. There were ways she could, but a gun wasn't one of them. The woman had finally resigned herself to fear and pain. She didn't know what to believe anymore, so giving up was that final thing she could do. If she gave up, she wouldn't have to worry. She'd accept her fate and just move through every day without wondering what's around the next corner. Because, if it were a gun or knife, she would only smile and accept it with open arms, like a punishment she some how deserved. Snopy though, he was trying to convince her otherwise. He kept talking, telling her not to give up. He tried to get her to look at him, but she couldn't and wouldn't. She kept her gaze toward the floor, or any other direction that was not him. She couldn't understand it; his optimism. He was just as broken as her a moment ago, so why?

"I can't trust anyone... and he has won..." Kanna muttered and shook her head before finally looking up to Snopy. She just stared for a moment, the silence thickening the air around them. "What are you going to do?" Kanna asked with a shrug of disbelief. He could do nothing. She wasn't safe and he could not protect her. Sure, he caught Yoshida off guard today, but Yoshida knew people. Even if Snopy was a strong and skilled fighter, there were a few things that made Kanna rightfully doubt him. "You're not around me at all times. I don't even really know you..." Kanna brought up, "I live here, in my bar. I now have to replace a few doors and locks, so I'm not safe in that manner, as if they helped very much today... So what are you going to do? Put a GPS on me? Follow me around wherever I go? You'd be wasting your life away. It's not like you can move in here... Just... Just go. Leave me be."

This woman was stubborn. He had to think of something, something that could convince her. He wondered if...that could backfire really badly. Yet at the same time, she was so defeated if it was hope of safety why would she try and screw him over? She...had spiritual energy within her, he could sense it. She would be able to see him even if he showed her his true body. Something still felt off about hers, like it was familiar, and yet the familiarity didn't make sense. Could she really be? Snopy shook his head. "You really think that's it? He has won and you're just gonna resign yourself to whatever fate he forces upon you?" Then she said it. He'd be wasting his life away. As she said those words, he actually started to laugh. Like he really started to laugh. "I'd be wasting my life away? Ahaha...oh you have no idea." He took a few moments to calm himself down. Wasting his life to make sure she was safe? If that was wasting his life then he's been wasting his life ever since the day he died, a tad ironic. "If helping someone who needs it is wasting my life...then I guess I need to rethink my career choice. I know what wasting my life is, and that ain't it. I know what wasting my life really is, and I'd still have my mother and sister if I hadn't done it all those years ago." He became dead serious all of the sudden. "Protecting people isn't wasting my life...it is my life."

Perhaps...she should know. He had his ace in the hole, and he could easily reveal it to her. "I shall offer you one of my services, and it won't cost you a dime." He grabbed a napkin and wrapped up the donut, just to the air didn't try it out. "You're resigned to your fate. Yoshida has won, and you're ready to just let him have his way with you. To beat you, to kill you, you've obviously decided that is your destiny." He turned to her, still with a serious look. "Your worst case scenario come true. Well tell me, then what's the harm in a little gamble? You're already waiting for that bear to beat you, kill you, and do ungodly things to you. You have nothing to lose...but..." Snopy grinned slightly. "That just means that you have everything to gain." Snopy moved back over to Kanna once more, and kneeling down. "Leave it to me, if I fail? The same thing happens to you that you're already prepared for anyway. I succeed in protecting you though...I think you get the picture." Snopy stood up and turned away from her, turning his head sideways so she saw the side of his head and one eye. "Yoshida can't do a thing to me, this is a fact. I have one condition. I have something to show you, it will bring upon you no harm...but you cannot tell anyone. That is all I ask. Remember, what do you have to lose from the deal? What, even with the slimmest chances, could you gain?"

Kanna listened. She may not look like she was listening to him, but she was. She was listening more than anyone would think. She kept her head low. Her cheeks were red from crying. Her jaw was clenched tightly as she tried to hold her tears back. He was right with what he was saying, but he was twisting her mind in a way that actually favored them both. He didn't want her to die. She didn't want to die. She was just so tired of it all. She was so tired of the pain and the heartache. She was tired of being scared. She had nothing, nothing at all. He was definitely right about that. He wasn't panicking anymore either. Wait, no. He was never panicking. He had just felt guilty over doing this to her. Kanna was able to calm down, but her eyes were a little dull. She just wanted to keep asking why, but there was no point. If she asked why, there was really only one answer that she'd be given at this point.

"I have nothing else to lose..." she said and took in a deep breath, sighing it out. She grabbed onto her bed and pulled herself up. She stumbled a bit, but caught herself. She was feeling pretty weak at the moment, so once she got onto the bed, Kanna just collapsed and laid there with her arms spread outwards. She looked to Snopy again, her expression back to normal though the redness from her tears had not faded. She took in another deep breath. "Fine." she said through a defeated sigh, "But what am I supposed to do? How are you going to protect me, Snopy? Am I supposed to call you if he comes back or something?" This was probably going to be harder than Snopy thought. Kanna didn't trust anyone else, so if anyone else but him was watching over her, like someone he would hire, she'd probably freak out. Unless he was inviting her to move in with him, she wasn't sure how this will work.

"If I'm betting my life on anything, it's going to be you and your word. If I'm supposed to be taking this chance, I'm not going to take it with any other crack-pot pervert that you may throw at me. I don't want a bodyguard or some guys sitting out in a van spying on everything I do. I want my privacy. I want to be able to live my life and be happy... If you can't provide me with that, tell me now."

Snopy would grin as she repeated his words, having nothing to lose, but this scenario was a tad sad, enough to overtake the pleasure of possibly convincing her.  He didn't bother trying to help her up, for the same reason he's avoided touching her this entire time.  Still, he was prepared to catch her if she fell, though thankfully she didn't.  She collapsed onto the bed, and finally gave in.  Finally she agree'd to actually let him help her.  That was the first step.  She couldn't turn her life around if she wasn't at least willing to try to take a chance to fix it.  Granted, she continued, still skeptical about how he would truly help her.  Rightfully so, she wanted to point out he was the one who was supposed to protect her, no one else.  Not surprising, and to be fair in his career he often sent others in his stead when he himself wasn't personally needed.  Still, his intent from the beginning was to do it personally.  This was a problem he created, it was a problem he'd personally see to fixing.  "I fully intend on providing you privacy, safety, and hopefully happiness.  That last one is more on you than me, I can help obviously, but the first 2 I can definitely do."  Well, she has heard his condition and hadn't refused, so he took a deep breath.  "I'm not exactly what you'd call human."  Snopy took a step forward, but his physical body remained still.  From his left leg, another emerged, then the torso.  Soon enough he had stepped right out of his gigai.  His gigai promptly vanished, and a pill began falling to the ground, which he had quickly grabbed and stuck in a little container in his pocket.

There he stood.  He was dressed rather casual outfit, yet at his hip there were 2 blades.  The hilts of which were pink and purple.  He didn't have his revolvers on him at the time.  A pair of sunglasses were nestled on the neck opening in the shirt, using the ear piece to hold it in place.  He was wearing a simple short sleeved shirt and pants, but on his arm, similar to a Shinigami officer's badge.  It had the squad 5 emblem on it, though small, at the bottom signifying his former squad.  However, centered on the badge was the Vizard Squadron logo, adorned with extra symbols which signified Snopy was the leader, though only those who knew about the squadron would be able to figure that out.  Snopy raised his finger up, twirling it as energy condensed around it and engulfed it in a purple glow.  "I suppose a proper introduction is in order then.  Snopy Saika.  Former Captain of the 5th division and leader of the Vizard Squadron.  In other words, the most powerful man in the city."  Snopy clenched his fist, causing the energy caught within it to disperse.  "A ravenous beast like Yoshida won't be allowed to lay one hand on you."  Snopy rolled his neck, sometimes he was a little stiff upon coming out of that thing.  "The simplest solution would be to move in with me, but if you aren't keen on that choice, then we'll have to discuss how we're going to do this."  Snopy suddenly heard something within his head.  "Ohhhhhhh, she's hawt!"  Oooooof course that's what Fumiko had to say.  "You gonna make mooooves on her?"  Snopy kept a straight face outwardly, or rather he didn't change his facial expression in response, but internally he was facepalming really hard.  I have more important things to worry about than making moves on her right now, like keeping her safe.  "What could be safer than in your arms!"  Suddenly Snopy could actually hear a thud and Fumiko's muffled voice.  "Don't worry I'll keep my sister quiet, just keep going."  Snopy suddenly sighed, the people in his life were a lot of work...but he wasn't exactly unhappy.

"Well?  What'll it be?"  He spoke, sitting down on the bench legs crossed.

Not human? Kanna's interest was raised rather quickly. She rolled over onto her stomach and titled her head to watch him. She witnessed this man step out of a body and then that body turn into a pill. Kanna quickly sat up on her knees and stared at him, hands in her lap. She blinked and looked him up and down as he explained who and what he was. "You know..." she spoke up without any shock in her voice, "You're explanation isn't very good. You probably should have started with something along the lines of being a Shinigami, not a former Captain or a Vizard. For one, it implies that your Captain role was more important than the one you currently hold... Besides that, are Vizards even common knowledge now? They weren't when I was around. If anything, you and your people were blemishes on the Gotei's perfect history." The sarcasm and hatred she held was obvious.

"And before you freak out and start with the 'you know about shinigami' questions... Yeah, I do." Kanna stood up off her bed and dusted herself off, "There was a time I was one; That has changed, end of story, goodbye, the end. I wasn't anyone important, never have been. My name will not be known by anyone in the Seireitei now, and is probably in the back of some classified record hidden away from public eyes." Kanna sat down on the edge of her bed, her back to Snopy. She sighed and lowered her head. "If there were people that I didn't want to see more that Yoshida... It would be the fucking Shinigami and anyone who associates themselves with those selfish, closed-minded, arrogant, hard-hearted, overly traditional, inconsiderate... Agh! If I could come up with some more insulting words, I would. Because everything bad there is to say, you can say it about the Shinigami!"

Kanna's head whipped around to look at him. She glanced him up and down, glaring at him angrily. She couldn't even be mad at him directly, which is why she said nothing more. For one, he wasn't a Shinigami anymore. For two, he wasn't around during her years in the Seireitei. For three, with so much time having passed, there was no point in fueling her anger even more. She calmed and her expression softened, but she looked away from him. "Move in with you, huh?" she brought up the original subject and looked around her room, "What should I do about all of this then? I can't exactly say no. If I do, I'm here alone again and any noise that happens outside will frighten me. I just... I don't want to leave my bar. It's important to me... I guess I could rent it out. I wonder what Iris would say... She and her boyfriend have been trying to find a place..." She was sort of talking to herself.

"I guess that is what's happening. I'll rent out this place to Iris for a discount and she'll help me around the bar..." Kanna looked up to Snopy, glancing him up and down again. Was she really going to move in with this man? Was this a good idea? She didn't think so, not at all. But what was the point of holding herself back? As Snopy said, she had nothing to lose. Even though there was much to gain, she really felt this was going to be another disappointment along with the rest of the disappointments she had lined up over the years. It was just wrapped in something nice right now. "I guess I'm moving in with you..." Kanna said and turned to face him, "Don't you try anything funny, Saika."

Snopy blinked a few times. She began to go on about positions...and the Gotei...and Vizard. "Dauuuhhhhh." He made that weird noise people make when they are caught of guard and it raspily escapes their lips. She began to go on and on about him being a blemish on the Gotei's perfect history. "Ow I hear that enough from the Gotei, it's kinda unnecessary?" He wasn't entirely bugged that she said that, but it was like "Seriously?" at that fact being brought up. She then hastily explained that she used to be a Shinigami and that was it, before insulting Shinigami over and over and over. Yeesh. He wasn't caught entirely off guard, though the only reason he wasn't reacting more was because she just kept going. "Well, I guess I don't need to explain what any of that meant. And don't take it out on me, I don't know what kinda stick the Gotei stuck up your butt, but they do it to a lot of people. It's a real bad habit, and lets leave it at that." He didn't hate them like Kanna, but to an extent it was aggravating being forced to leave all his friends in the Soul Society because they were paranoid. Snopy's eyes then widened. She just said yes to moving in with him? "SNOPY'S GOT A GIRLFRIEND! SNOPY'S GOT A GIR-OMPH" Suddenly she was muffled. "I really need to get a tranquilizer gun for this girl." "I didn't expect this to be a yes, well then. I guess I'll get a room ready." He began to head down to go back to his place, being sure to grab his donut. "And if I wanted to try something, I'd have done it by now."
