Personality: Hanae is a young woman who people can easily have a good time with. Even with her noble lineage, Hanae doesn't think less of anyone or more of herself. Her Mother taught her better than that. In fact, Hanae has taken quite a few lessons from her Mother to her core. She will often quote her Mother and do so with pride. Hanae and her Mother are very close and have always been that way. They've called each other their best friends for quite a few years now. Once Hanae was old enough to be an adult and not just her Mother's little girl, the two were able to open up and be great friends. Hanae still takes her mothers advice and goes to her when she's needing any help.

Hanae does have a little bit of a dependency problem. She's never really been alone or in need of money, so when some sort of loneliness hits she has a hard time dealing with it. She's not an attention seeker, but can come off that way when she's trying to get rid of the feeling. In these situations, she can get a little too physically clingy. It's always in the moment, not something she does all the time, so some people can handle the change. Hanae still lives with her Mother as well. Instead of taking up in the barracks, she stays in her home, which is actually within the Seireitei. She doesn't tell people how or why she has a home in here, since most of the people that do are actually nobles.

Hanae has a determined spirit that allows her to focus her energies in one direction. She's not so much one-track-minded, but is able to remember where she wants to be. She's not one of those people who trains non-stop because she wants to get a promotion. If she wants a promotion, she'll train more than normal, but still makes time for family, friends, and other leizure activities that other people might throw out. Hanae knows how to have a good time and manage her life pretty well. Since she doesn't have certain responsibilies, like paying bills or cleaning her home, she has this time. Her Mother usually does that for her, which is an agreement because Hanae is the one making money.

Character Background: Hanae's start of life was a complicated one. She was born as a child of the Saionji, but was the product of an affair. Her Mother was wrapped around this man's finger, being drawn in and entranced by the noble Saionji's charm. She thought it was love, but to the current Head of the Saionji, it was merely a break from his wife. There was a bit of a secret scandal within the Saionji when this came about, but the situation was quietly taken care of by the Saionji. Hanae was as well. From before she was born until twenty-one years into her life, she had everything she needed. Suddenly, things weren't perfect. For reasons she did not understand, the mony was just gone.

Hanae was told about her Father, brothers, and the family she truly belonged to, but her mother convinced her that showing up out of the blue was wrong. Her brothers had nothing to do with the situation and throwing that on them would likely hurt all three of them more than benefit. Twenty-Seven years ago, Hanae was enrolled into the Gotei 13 upon her graduation of Shino Academy. Though she is a member of the Tenth Division, Hanae decided she wanted to meet people in the Second and Sixth for a chance to meet their Captains. Her mother had asked her not to do this because they were all very different people and she feared Hanae being hurt or disappointed in her brothers.

Hanae hadn't gotten to see the Captain of the Second, but she did get to see the Captain of the Sixth. It was her oldest brother, J Saionji. That man intimidated the living hell out of her. She bumped into him on accident when she tried approaching him just to say hi and the look of anger he had on his face was enough to make her abandon the idea. Since then, she's been living a normal life as a low-level Shinigami. Only recently, after having a small conversation with her nicer older brother Kazuo, has Hanae decided she wanted to be a part of her family. She doesn't feel like she has the right to because they're both very skilled and powerful, so her new goal is to become powerful and prove herself.


Unreleased Abilities:

Hohō: Hanae is actually embarrassed by her inability to grasp this technique. She's never really had a good teacher and barely passed when she graduated the Academy.

Kidō: Hanae's skill with Kidō is pretty average. She studies it normally and doesn't go too crazy, but has fun. She likes to think of it like magic and learning spells. She's playful like that.

Zanjutsu: Hanae is actually pretty impressive with Zanjutsu for her current power level. She's not a prodigy or anything like that, but she's often caught training other people in her squad because of it.

Hakuda: Hanae is a novice with any sort of hand-to-hand combat. She can defend herself against weaker opponents, but she is still in need of some training in this fighting style.

Shikai Name: Senbonzakura
Shikai Appearance: In its Shikai, Senbonzakura's blade separates and scatters into a thousand tiny, slender blade fragments. These tiny fragments fly away from the hilt, leaving only the sword's handle in Hanae's hand. While the blades are actually too small to be seen normally, they naturally reflect light in such a way that allows them to resemble cherry blossom petals.

Shikai Abilities:

By swinging the hilt, Hanae can control the blade fragments, allowing her to shred opponents at a distance and break through almost any defense. The blades can be used for defensive purposes, as they can protect Hanae from an incoming sword swing or other abilities. They do this by gathering in a specified area to block incoming attacks. In order to protect Hanae from her own attacks in both Shikai and Bankai, Senbonzakura possesses a Hurtless Area (無傷圏, mushōken; lit. "Woundless Zone") where it does not cut anything within 40 inches of Hanae unless she herself allows the blades to enter the area. During Hanae's training, she will later have the ability to obtain a finer understanding of her Shikai, granting her greater control and the ability to form more solid constructs at a greater scale.
