Arrancar Racial Information

Arrancar are, above all else, the final evolution of the Hollow form. Unlike the Hollow themselves, Arrancar find themselves capable of more than just mindlessly following their instincts, no longer having the absolute desire to consume souls and instead being capable of choosing their own path. Just as not all Shinigami are inherently ‘good’, not all Arrancar are inherently ‘evil’, though it could be said that most of them probably are.

Their departure from their original Hollow forbears has granted some additional strength and power to the Arrancar, and yet due to the evolutions that Hollows undergo through feasting, not every Arrancar is born in equal measures. They have a three-tiered level of power, going from the Gillian, to the Adjuchas, to the Vasto Lordes. The strength of an Arrancar when they are created is proportional to the strength of the Hollow that they once were.

Arrancar Origins:

The Arrancar were born when the worlds were split into two, and the pieces of the God of Death’s blade scattered amongst both Plus and Hollow. While the Pluses became Shinigami, who followed the guide of that once-powerful God, the Arrancar were borne from Hollow, shattering their masks and unleashing their power. They did not have the same guidance to learn their power, and over time grew to resent the Shinigami, due to their different origins, and despite their powers coming from one in the same.

Arrancar Techniques:

Cero: Easily the most recognizable of the Arrancar Techniques, the Cero is both simple in its conception and uniquely modifiable. The practitioner fires a powerful blast of concentrated spiritual energy at the target. While in most cases it is fired from the mouth, some Arrancar can fire Cero from their hands, fingers, and other parts of their bodies. The color is generally in line with the Arrancar’s own spiritual energies. Further variations of the basic Cero apply, some more powerful than others.

Bala: While similar in function to a Cero, a Bala is not nearly as powerful, but, thanks to its composition, its speed is 20 times faster, allowing it to be fired in quick succession. In addition, it possesses more concussive force than a typical Cero does.

Hierro: One of the two main defensive techniques of an Arrancar. The user's Reiryoku condenses, creating a steel-hard skin strong enough to block a Zanpakutō. This allows users to confront some of the sword-wielding Shinigami barehanded. While this technique is exhibited by all Arrancar to some degree, the strength of an individual's Hierro is entirely proportional to the potency of their Reiryoku. An Arrancar with a powerful level of Hierro will always have a weaker level of regeneration.

Regeneration: Regeneration allows Hollows to recover from any damage they sustain by causing them to heal at a drastically increased rate, closing the wounds on their body and growing back any lost limbs within extremely short periods of time. Despite the many benefits it provides, most Hollows choose to abandon this ability when they become Arrancar in exchange for a greater amount of power. While this ability to regenerate is indeed powerful, it is not without its flaws. Despite the extent to which it can heal the body, internal organs, such as the brain, cannot be regenerated; if such irreparable damage is sustained, the rest of the body can continue to regenerate, though to no avail. In addition, if the body is damaged before it has the chance to heal, or if enough damage is inflicted at once, it can be destroyed nonetheless. An Arrancar with High-Speed Regeneration will always have a weaker Hierro.

Sonido: The Arrancar’s version of Shunpo. It is equivalent in speed to the Shinigami’s technique, though making a far different noise when used, akin to a sonic boom.

Resurreccion: Releasing the core of their Hollow power—much like releasing a Zanpakutō—an Arrancar can return to their nautral Hollow strength, though at a much higher level of power and with the retention of their critical decision-making. Usually, an Arrancar’s Resurreccion is more Hollow-like than humanoid, though exceptions do certainly apply.

Segunda Etapa: A more powerful form of Ressurreccion, only available to Vasto Lorde Arrancar, and therefore requiring permission from the Administrators. If you have been allowed permission, then you may use the below template in your application.
